Brian Cox is crapping on organized religion, and especially Christianity … calling the Bible the worst book to ever grace human history, ’cause it’s duped so many suckers and fools.
The actor is known for his occasional outspoken views and indifference to certain areas of pop culture, and he’s now spoken about faith around the world in an in-depth interview.
The “Succession” star sat for an interview with ‘The Starting Line Podcast‘ … and they talked about a lot of stuff — including introspective thoughts on religion, God, spirituality, and all the rest. From Brian’s POV … it’s all a bunch of hogwash, not buying any of it.
Cox, 77, hit out at religion as a concept and accused it of being a tool for patriarchal control. He also called the Bible “one of the worst books ever”.
When asked if he believed religion was holding humanity back, Cox said: “Oh considerably, yes – I think religion does hold us back because it’s belief systems which are outside ourselves.
He says the reason humans are so damn resistant to that, though, is because of the Bible — and all the stories that go all the way back to Adam and Eve … which he thinks subjugate women to a lesser-than role in society, and which are burned into our subconscious today.
On that front, BC calls the Bible the greatest propaganda instrument of all time — and slams it as the worst book ever. He also says God doesn’t exist … and that religion is simply a means of control.

I started reading the Bible in 1976 and I have been reading it every day since. I feel bad for those who don’t read nor believe it because these poor souls don’t have any hope.
Instead of condemning those who shun God and his word, we need to pray for them.

To deny GOD so vehemently requires an enormous amount of DENIAL of millions of facts. Recorded history by so many people have led thousands of lawyers, some atheists, to actively take the case to demonstrate that JESUS CHRIST lived and miraculously healed, brought back from the dead, and many other miracles.
So, I listen to atheists denying GOD and realize their faith in NO DEITY is stronger than my Faith in GOD whom I KNOW, through many facts, has saved me from certain death many times. With PROOFS, and witnesses.
Even Satan believes that there is a God. Atheists do believe too but they reject God because of pride and arrogance. If you ask Cox who created him, his body, eyes, nose, face, ears, bones, intestines, heart, brain, teeth, tongue, and all his other body parts, he will surely say, his parents did it for 9 months by having sex with each other. Nine months? Did his parents made the oceans too, the mountains, the lakes, the animals, the birds? Let’s pray for him to wake up and that God may touch his heart for his sake.
You can’t fix stupid but God want’s us to try. He will have eternity to think about his words and thoughts and it will be to late. I fear there will be a lot of super rich and big names to keep him company because they are doing so well here on earth they don’t have time for their creator. The torment they will endure for eternity will make it impossible for them to even think about who is there with them. God makes it so easy to be with him it is so sad these people have outsmarted themselves.

Well, considering the Old Testament was a free wheeling translation from old Jewish books, and the New Testament written originally in old greek or aramaic about 150 years after the death of Jesus and also freewheeling translations , including some editing to make passages more “inspiring”, The Bible is probably more a work of fiction than a sacred document.
I do not know if I can call it the worst book ever, BUT for sure it had led to people to inflict incredible cruelty and hardships to other people and justify this in the name of God.
In fairness it have also inspire people to do good deeds and love their fellow man without limitations, BUT the good teachings are very often corrupted by humans natural innate nastiness.
The New Testament was not written 150 years after Jesus. Most of the New Testament was written by his disciples. I’m sorry you have been so misinformed. Jesus’s life, death, burial and resurrection were all prophecied throughout the entire Old Testament from Genesis through Malachi. Please do not make statements about things you know nothing about! The Jewish people were the chosen race by which the Messiah, Jesus came. All of this has been documented historically and proven true by archeology in the land of Israel and the surrounding area. I wish you would attempt to read the book of John, written by Jesus’s cousin. It’s the fourth book in the New Testament. I will pray that you will read it with an open mind. I personally Know this Jesus, and you can too.

So sad, but that is the plight of todays “free thinker. ” he is entitled to his opinion, I respect that.. HOWEVER, ‘I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn’t, than live as if there isn’t and to die to find out that there is.’ . . . If we are believers, we have a responsibility to pray for all who consider our Savior a myth. So–what you do depends on the relationship you have with the One who changes thoughts and lives.
I disagree. The Bible is a great book. In its original test it has great beauty and wonderful stories and it has had a major effect on Western thought and history, but like all books, it is a product of its times. It was derived from different sources and as such has many contradictions. It should be read as literature not as a moral guide and should not be taken as literally true.
Who cares what this person thinks ? Who cares what any non-believer thinks ? There were some who didn’t believe Jesus was the Son of God when Christ was here on earth. There are some today who don’t believe. You aren’t going to convince them. They have made their choice. They will pay the price for their choice. They don’t want to believe in Jesus – or God – (right Buzz ?) – so they have made their decision where they will spend their eternity. They will spend their eternity fully separated from God – in the hell that they didn’t believe existed. Sarcastic remarks and complaints about the “BuyBull” will not be heard as they will bow at the Great White Throne. End of story.

I know God exists and the Bible is the greatest book ever written. I could not possibly care less about what Cox or any other atheist thinks. He is the fool. His soul, which is his responsibility alone, will come face to face with God in due time–and at 77 years old it won’t be much longer. God will deal with him.
