The Zodiac Killer’s chilling message to police has been decoded after 50 years, revealing a macabre question posed by the notorious and still unidentified murderer.

The enigmatic serial killer, who managed to elude capture following his murderous rampage in the late 1960s, has long fascinated the public with cryptic messages left at his crime scenes. Now, one of those messages has finally been deciphered.

After decades of attempts, the FBI has confirmed that they have solved the 408-symbol cipher left by the killer, who is believed to have taken the lives of up to 49 individuals.

The killer’s gruesome note stated: “I hope you are having lots of fun in trying to catch me. That wasn’t me on the TV show. Which brings up a point about me. I am not afraid of the gas chamber,” reports the Daily Star.

“Because it will send me to paradise all the sooner. Because I now have enough slaves to work for me. Where everyone else has nothing when they reach paradise. So they are afraid of death. I am not afraid because I know that my new life is. Life will be an easy one in paradise death. [sic]”.

This disturbing communication from the Zodiac Killer had confounded specialists for years until a stroke of luck and a team of codebreakers decided to tackle the cipher, as reported by IFLScience.

A scholarly article has since verified the method used to crack the code, stating: “It is clear that the complications introduced by Zodiac led to much delay in its solution.

  1. After decades of attempts, the FBI has confirmed that they have solved the 408-symbol cipher left by the killer, who is believed to have taken the lives of up to 49 individuals.
This is bogus. The code was cracked by an Australian named Sam Blake and two other cryptologists. Give credit where credit is due.
The FBI has been trying to crack the code for decades, and it wasn’t the FBI who cracked it.
