Alec Baldwin’s legal and financial situation seems to be spiraling further into turmoil as the aftermath of the tragic fatal shooting on the set of ‘Rust’ in 2021 continues to unfold.
The 65-year-old actor was formally indicted on new charges of involuntary manslaughter in connection to the death of ‘Rust’ cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on January 18, months after his involuntary manslaughter charges were dropped.

According to OK Magazine, a source revealed that Baldwin who is now apprehensive about his financial situation is “scared of going broke.”
The insider shared that the ‘Yellowstone’ actor has “already spent hundreds of thousands” defending himself in the case, and his financial woes may have played a role in the recent listing of his $19 million home in the Hamptons.
The tragic place occurred during rehearsals on the set of ‘Rust’ when Baldwin was holding a gun.
Despite his claim of never pulling the trigger, questions linger about how live bullets made it into the weapon and why a real gun was used instead of a prop gun.
At the time, the charges were filed against Baldwin and Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the film’s armorer. Throughout the probe into the shooting, Baldwin has consistently maintained innocence.

If convicted of the fourth-degree charge, Baldwin could face up to 18 months in prison.
Following the announcement of the new charges, the actor’s attorneys Alex Spiro and Luke Nikas said, “We look forward to our day in court.”
In the latest legal filing in the case, prosecutors have asserted that the Emmy winner, “did cause the death of Halyna Hutchins by an act committed with the total disregard or indifference for the safety of others, and the act was such that an ordinary person would anticipate that death might occur under the circumstances.”
Halyna Hutchins’ family reacts to new charges against Alec Baldwin
In the wake of the new involuntary manslaughter charges against Balwin, Hutchin’s family lawyer Gloria Allred issued a statement.
“Our clients have always sought the truth about what happened on the day that Halyna Hutchins was tragically shot and killed on October 21, 2021,” the lawyer stated.
“They continue to seek the truth in our civil lawsuit for them and they also would like there to be accountability in the criminal justice system,” the statement added.
