A “madman” on Staten Island allegedly stabbed two elderly neighbors — killing one — and a third victim in what appears to be an unprovoked fit of rage on Friday, according to locals and police sources.

The unthinkable violence that left an 81-year-old man dead and his 78-year-old friend critically injured unfolded on Sunnyside Terrace – a quiet, tree-lined block – around 4:40 p.m., according to cops and neighbors.

A 51-year-old man also suffered minor injuries in the triple stabbing, the NYPD said.

The alleged attacker was arrested at the scene.

“His face was like a madman,” Neighbor Kelly Doyle, 41, said of the 57-year-old suspect when cops collared him.

“He looked deranged when he came out,” she added.

Police confirmed the triple stabbing, but didn’t immediately reveal what they believe could have sparked the bloodshed.

Neighbors told The Post that it appears to have been a random attack.

At least two of the 78-year-old man’s relatives – his son and granddaughter – were home when he was stabbed, said Doyle.

The granddaughter, 16, was screaming, ‘I’m going to kill him!” at the suspect as her bleeding grandfather was carried off on a stretcher, Doyle said.

The man’s son, she said, tried to go after the suspect but was held back by several officers.

Police confirmed the triple stabbing, but didn’t immediately reveal what they believe could have sparked the bloodshed.

Doyle said the 81-year-old man was covered in blood as first responders rushed him into an ambulance while administering CPR – but he couldn’t be saved.

MaryAnn Nelson, 72, said the deceased victim was “a great neighbor” who would “give you the shirt off his back.”

She said she saw the man’s devastated wife screaming at her husband’s alleged killer as police whisked him away.

“‘I hope you die! I hope you die!’” the devastated wife yelled, according to Nelson.

Nelson’s husband, Bill, called the stabbing spree “totally senseless” and said it was perpetrated  for seemingly “no reason.”

  1. You can’t blame the democrates when an 81 year old man goes berserk. Mental health system in our country is horrible . We need to treat mental health the same as any other illness. It should be treated the same as diabetes, heart disease, liver failure and kidney disease.

    1. Actually the stabby guy was a 57 years old. Victims were 81 and 78
But mindless fools like to blame Democrats for everything…or Jews or Migrants. It is easier to blame some random goat than actually giving the subject some thoughts

      1. Why wouldn’t we blame the delusional Demonrats? You didn’t see this crap under any other President in modern history. Demonrats just don’t want to face the truth that it’s been their agenda to ruin our legal system. They won’t let Police do their jobs. Demonrat mayors and Governors and DA’s in blue states that have been put into place by Soros who wants to see the destruction of our great Country. Biden has a crisis every time he opens his mouth. He has made our country the laughing stock of the world. He has put numerous Americans at risk of being hurt by his open borders plan. He has ruined our economy with open borders and no plan on how to house these people. Oh and lets not forget that we have American vets who fought for this country living on the streets and he puts illegals before our vets. He has confused his wife with his sister, he needs help finding his way from the helicopter to the white house. He can’t remember to shake hands with dignitaries from other countries. He farts in front of the King and Queen of England and then laughs about it. Can’t you see that you put a man in office that has turned our white house into a Senior Care Facility? People have very good reasons for blaming the Demonrats. Get over yourself.
