Don Lemon, the host of CNN’s “Don Lemon Tonight,” is under fire again for his recent comments about Jon Stewart.
The incident occurred during a segment on Stewart’s interview with Deputy Secretary of Defense Kathleen Hicks over the weekend, where Stewart grilled Hicks with pointed questions.
While the segment was playing, Lemon was caught on a hot mic saying that Stewart “gets a lot of leeway with the comedian thing.”
Although this may have been true during Stewart’s tenure on “The Daily Show,” it is not the case now, as Stewart has become one of the few voices in corporate media willing to hold politicians accountable.
After realizing his mistake, Lemon tried to backtrack, stating that they were discussing how Jon Stewart is “so much more than a comedian” and is a “thought leader.”
He even went as far as saying that he didn’t think they needed to qualify Jon Stewart as a comedian and television host.
While Lemon tried to salvage the situation, it’s clear that his initial comment was unnecessary and misguided. It’s not the first time Lemon has found himself in hot water for his comments.
He has been criticized in the past for his opinions on various political and social issues, including his comments about Trump supporters, Black Lives Matter, and COVID-19.
It’s important for journalists to have their own opinions, but it’s equally important to present the facts and allow viewers to come to their own conclusions.
When journalists inject their opinions into their reporting, it can damage their credibility and the credibility of the network they work for.
In the case of Don Lemon, this incident is just another addition to the growing list of evidence that suggests he is a toxic presence at CNN and cannot keep his unwanted opinions to himself.
The incident also highlights the need for journalists to be mindful of what they say, even when they think their microphone is off. As the saying goes, “loose lips sink ships.”

I like Jon Stewart much better than Lemon, but I see no reason for that comment to be a big deal. I am sure Jon Stewart did not make anything of this comment.
Fact is Jon Stewart do great interviews by having people underestimate him (do not why at this point anybody makes lite of him), Jon is well informed, sharp and far more intelligent than the average right wing politicians he questioned.
It seem conservatives do not like Don Lemon (black, gay and works at CNN) and therefore try to make a huge deal of any comment he may make
ONCE A LEMON, ALWAYS A LEMON….
