This weekend, former president Donald Trump went on a rant about Pennsylvania lieutenant governor and Democratic senate candidate John Fetterman that ended with him accusing Fetterman of using multiple illegal drugs.
Trump was speaking at a Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, political rally in support of GOP Senate candidate Mehmet Oz when he began speaking about Fetterman, who is currently leading Oz in most public polling.
He said the Pennsylvania lieutenant governor — who is known for his trademark campaign trail uniform of shorts and hooded sweatshirts — dresses “like a teenager getting high in his parents basement” and called him a “raging lunatic” who not only supports legalization of illicit drugs but partakes of them personally.
“Fetterman supports taxpayer funded drug dens and the complete decriminalization of illegal drugs, including heroin, cocaine, crystal meth and ultra lethal fentanyl,” he said. “And by the way, he takes them himself”.
There is no evidence that Fetterman, who recently returned to the campaign trail after suffering a stroke, has ever used any of the substances Trump mentioned.
In a statement, Fetterman campaign spokesperson Joe Calvello called the ex-president’s claims “more and more lies from Trump and Dr Oz”.
“Another day, but it’s the same crap from these two desperate and sad dudes,” he said.

Trump continues to lie about anything or anybody that he doesn’t agree. Why is the news even publishing this without an iota of evidence? That response was not investigated at all. Poor journalism to continue to promote Trump and his fake news.
Wow! I’m seeing a lot of hate in the comments. How do you know he’s lying? Where’s your proof? Of course the campaign will deny and call him a liar. Trump May embellish the truth but he doesn’t just outright lie like the media that you all do dearly cling to does on a daily basis. In fact, Trump has been proven right time and time again when everyone was screaming lies.
As far as Trump lying – just ask the Germans about their natural gas supply, as of today.
Trump warned them ALL years ago – and the UN laughed. They’re not laughing now.
Trump might be an egotistical blowhard – but he knows his stuff.
I unfortunately live in PA now and cringe when I see Festerman’s ads.
And double-cringe when I see him speak at events. The man is a train wreck.
There is NO WAY I’d want to see that guy representing us in the Senate.
Festerman can’t speak a coherent sentence. And has no fashion sense.
And is a pretentious sack who’s a Trust Fund Baby – his parents are very wealthy.
His sister sold him his big fancy house for one dollar.
He hasn’t worked a day until he became Lt Gov.
But he acts like he’s “one of the guys”.
Trump is most likely correct on this, too.
