Sasha Obama Goes Hollywood

Barack Obama’s daughter Sasha is dating the 24-year-old son of a Hollywood actor.

Sasha’s new boyfriend is the son of Ray actor Clifton Powell, who now works as a commercial director.

The former First Lady Michelle let slip that her daughter is dating basketballer Clifton Powell Jr. during an appearance on the Ellen Show.

“Before it was just, like, pop bands. Now they have boyfriends and real lives.”

Sasha, 20, moved to LA last August after she dropped her studies at the University of Michigan for a course at USC.

It’s believed that she met beau Clifton, who also goes by ‘Cliff’ and ‘CP3’, at her new university.

He is the second child of Clifton Snr. and Kimberly Crooms, 58, and grew up in the family’s luxurious Ladera Heights home.

Ladera Heights, along with Windsor Hills, Baldwin Hills and View Park, has been nicknamed “the Black Beverly Hills”.

As well as having an actor as a dad, his mum is a successful business woman and runs an interior design company called whateverUneed Designs and a catering company called Chef Kim.

His sister Maya, 29, runs her own hair braiding beauty business called Suga Honey Glam Incorporated.

Clifton attended Village Christian High School in the San Fernando, a private school that charges a whopping $28,340 a year and offers “an excellent Christian education.”

According to its mission statement, the school focuses on making religion “a central part of students’ lives”, continuing: “It is our desire that every student comes to a point where Christ is at the centre of their life, influencing every thought that they have and action that they make. In so doing, they will be equipped to spread His Word even further.”

In 2016, 6ft Clifton signed for a basketball scholarship, but later decided to focus on his work in the film industry.

At the time, his dad had shared a post on Facebook : “‘Check out Clifton Powell Jr god is good he is officially signed to a full four bball scholarship to the University Of California At Santa Barbra [sic] !!!!!!!!!”

The 24-year-old never made any secret of his ambition for a life outside of sport, writing in his basketball bio that he hoped for a career as a broadcaster.

Sasha and Clifton were seen strolling through LA together, looking carefree and happy.

She wore a low-rise long lilac skirt with a purple and pink drop top.

The student also layered necklaces and accessorised with a beaded bag.
