Former President Donald Trump has accused the media and some Republicans of ‘misrepresenting’ his remark that Russian President Vladimir Putin was a ‘genius’ in invading Ukraine.
Trump lashed out at so-called Republican In Name Only people and two other groups through his Save America political action committee on Tuesday, while reiterating his claim that Russia would not have invaded Ukraine if he was still president.
‘The RINOs, Warmongers, and Fake News continue to blatantly lie and misrepresent my remarks on Putin because they know this terrible war being waged against Ukraine would have never happened under my watch,’ Trump stated.
‘They did absolutely nothing as Putin declared much of Ukraine an “independent territory.”’
Trump went on to blame President Joe ‘Biden, NATO, and the West’ for failing ‘so terribly in allowing’ the war to start. The 45th president claimed that they made the US, Europe and the rest of the world dependent on Russian oil and ‘gave Russia the opening’ for Putin to pursue what he’s wanted.
‘It’s terrible, but this is what you get with Biden, the Democrats, and RINO warmongers!’ Trump concluded.
Trump on a conservative talk radio show Tuesday of last week shocked the world with how he described Putin’s moves.
‘I went in yesterday and there was a television screen, and I said, “This is genius.” Putin declares a big portion of the Ukraine – of Ukraine. Putin declares it as independent. Oh, that’s wonderful,’ Trump said at the time.
‘So, Putin is now saying, “It’s independent”, a large section of Ukraine. I said, “How smart is that?” And he’s gonna go in and be a peacekeeper.’
But Trump walked back on those remarks in his speech headlining the Conservative Political Action Conference on Saturday. He called the Russian attack on Ukraine ‘appalling’, an ‘outrage’ and ‘atrocity that should never have been allowed to occur’. He then sought to clarify his original comment on Putin.
‘Yesterday reporters asked me if I thought President Putin is smart. I said of course he’s smart,’ Trump said. ‘The problem isn’t Putin is smart – which of course he is smart – it’s that our leaders are dumb.’
Trump faced widespread criticism for calling Putin a ‘genius’, ‘smart’ and ‘savvy’, including from his successor.
In a sit-down interview aired on Saturday, Biden laughed off Trump’s remark and pointed to the times his predecessor claimed to be a ‘stable genius’.
‘I put as much stock in Trump saying that Putin’s a genius as I do when he called himself a stable genius,’ Biden said.

It should be fairly obvious to the casual observer that Putin is normally about 5 steps ahead of the embarrassment occupying the White House.
It should also be just as intuitively obvious to the casual observer that Putin was also 5 steps ahead of the embarrassment that formerly occupied the White House from 2016 to 2020.
Putin might be 5 steps ahead of Biden the pos but not Trump. Biden and Obama are the only embarrassments that have occupied the White House. Putin would have never tried any of this BS when Trump was in there, Putin knows a coward when he sees one.
The world knows Biden is a moron so i is guess now it has to be look what Trump said. Whoever writes these articles on this site clearly hates Trump. This is the same person who wrote that Trump and DeSantis were fighting which was all a lie.
