A Phoenix woman is dead from what police are calling a homicide tied to a possible road-rage shooting.
Police who responded to the scene of a white SUV that had crashed into a wall just before 2 p.m. Thursday found the driver, 38-year-old Stella Montes, suffering from a gunshot wound, Phoenix police said in a news release.
Montes was rushed to a hospital but died from her injury.
Brooke Raspa, a woman who lives on the other side of the wall near the north Phoenix intersection where the accident occurred, said she heard eight to 10 gunshots prior to the crash and “felt my whole house vibrate when the van hit the wall,” reports AZFamily.com.
Raspa said she then heard screams for help from someone who turned out to be the victim’s daughter.
“We went up over the hill and the lady was stuck in the vehicle and we were trying to pull her out and the police showed up and told us to get out of the way and he started CPR immediately,” said Raspa, according to the TV news outlet. “She was non-responsive from the very beginning.”
She said the daughter described the incident, saying that Montes allegedly pulled up behind another vehicle at the intersection and then honked the horn, trying to prod the driver in front to move forward.
“They honked at him to go, not realizing that it was no turn on red, and then they decided to go around him and that angered him, apparently,” Raspa said. “So he drove by and probably emptied a whole clip.”https://www.youtube.com/embed/s1LRfsc9RgM
The news release said police did not have a vehicle or suspect description, but acknowledged the report that Montes “was shot by a person in another vehicle after a traffic altercation.”
“This investigation is in the preliminary stages,” police said in the statement released Friday. “Detectives are working to determine more information about what led up to the incident.”
Said Raspa: “You have to be a very angry person to even have the mindset to [think], I’m going to kill this person because they went around me. I mean, who does that? And to take someone’s life because of it is so sad to me.”

I’m so sorry for this lady’s daughter, family, and friends. I pray God brings them the comfort of great memories.
We’ve got to figure out how to handle our anger and frustration without using violence. The people in our country have lost the ability to deal with the least amount of irritation from anyone who doesn’t think our way. We overreact in the instant or let the irritation brew inside until we erupt violently. I’m guilty as well. My triggers are much more controlled these days because I can identify them immediately and pray about them immediately. I didn’t act this way until our Homeland became more and more divided over the years. First on one’s faith, then pro-life or pro-choice, then race, and another was political choices, and on and on.
Last week I got a note that the Salvation Army wants people to apologize and be ashamed for the color (or lack) of my skin. I lost it. How in the world did we get so far off track? I will not apologize for anything God created, He knew me before I was even conceived! He chose my gender, my race, my abilities to live and to praise Him. I surrendered to days and days of prayer, reading my Bible, seeking the counsel of others regardless of their beliefs. All this so I could have some sort of relation with them even though we are so different in all ways. For me, it was all about my need to reconnect with my Higher Power. I had let God down! Sure, I talked good stuff, I read my Bible at least 3-4 times a week, and I prayed when I wanted something, but with very little gratitude or humility. Now it takes just a few minutes of reading and prayer every day to guide my whole day, although there are days when I need to just ‘walk away’ and take time to ask God to bring me calm and peace.
I heard a lady say that we are all in the same boat, but I’ve come to see that we are actually in the same storm! Different boats; same tossing storm. We all need a lifeline. Our nation needs to put our faith ahead of our differences no matter what they are, at least in my thinking. An easy way for me to help others is to simply say “God bless you”, “Can I pray with you or for you?”, or “Do you need to talk to someone? I’m here for you.” You’d be surprised to know that many people talk freely with a stranger, (sort of like doing the 5th step! ~wink~), and regain a look of calm. Whatever it takes to fill that angry spirit within us, violence isn’t the answer.
I have a plan let more illegal creeping crud in our country because they can’t be prosecuted by a socialist leftist one world order government who hate America and Hate our constitution and then take the people who are law-abiding citizens guns away ,so stuff like this can happen repeatedly in town to town until the law abiding people get smart ,Feed Up and started hunting their local politicians like the animals and socialist dogs they are, then continue to Washington and show them what it feels like to live in this environment it takes guts to change a country not talk
