Donald Trump Jr. is facing a fresh wave of online backlash after a resurfaced video showed him making an eyebrow-raising comment to his 19-year-old daughter, Kai Trump.
The 48-year-old businessman and eldest son of President Donald Trump was seen in a short clip sitting beside Kai in what appeared to be a green room. Both were wearing styling capes, the kind typically used during hair, makeup, or wardrobe prep.

Then came the remark that set social media on fire.
“Will makeup make me look sexy like you?” Don Jr. asked his daughter while filming himself in selfie mode.
Kai, who appeared mostly focused on her phone, briefly looked up and laughed.
That small moment was enough to ignite a major reaction online, where critics quickly blasted the comment as inappropriate, uncomfortable, and, in the words of one X user, “so creepy.”
Kai, the oldest of Don Jr.’s five children, has become increasingly visible in the Trump orbit. The 19-year-old golfer and social media personality has appeared alongside her famous family at public events and has built her own following as a young influencer with a political last name that almost guarantees attention.
But the resurfaced video has critics arguing that this was not the kind of attention any father should bring to his teenage daughter.
One person on X wrote, “SUPER ICK! ANY and I mean ANY NORMAL Dad NEVER TALKS like that about HIS OWN DAUGHTER!”
Another ripped Don Jr. as a “worthless creep,” while others said the moment reminded them of past controversies involving the Trump family’s comments about women.
The backlash grew even louder as some critics drew comparisons between Don Jr. and his father, President Donald Trump, who has long faced scrutiny over his own controversial remarks about women, including members of his family.
Trump once raised eyebrows during an appearance on The View when he said of his daughter Ivanka Trump, “If Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.”
He has also been the subject of intense legal and political controversy after being found liable for sexual abuse and defamation in the civil case brought by writer E. Jean Carroll.
For many critics online, Don Jr.’s resurfaced remark fit into what they described as a disturbing pattern around the Trump men and public comments about women.
“The whole Trump gene pool is tainted. No class,” one person wrote in response to the clip.
The renewed controversy also comes just months after Don Jr. faced criticism over a birthday post for Kai.
In May, he marked her 19th birthday by sharing a series of photos on social media, including bikini pictures of his daughter. In the caption, he wrote, “Happy birthday to my absolute favorite 19-year-old child. @kaitrumpgolfer I love you and continue to be amazed at the woman you’re becoming.”
The post surprised some followers because Kai herself does not often share risqué images, including bikini photos, according to critics who questioned why her father chose to post them publicly.
“What a horrible father and person you are,” one Instagram user wrote at the time.
Another added, “Insane post given the political climate you guys have created. Do you think you’re popular or just don’t care about exposing your family to vitriol?”
The resurfaced “sexy” clip has now reopened that debate, with critics once again accusing Don Jr. of poor judgment and questioning why he would make such a personal comment about his own daughter on camera.
Supporters of the Trump family may dismiss the outrage as another round of political pile-on, but the reaction online shows just how quickly even an old clip can explode when it involves one of the most polarizing families in American politics.
