Donald Trump turned a high-profile investor event into another jaw-dropping spectacle Friday night, blurting out that audience members could ask him about “sex” while the world teetered on the edge of deeper chaos.
The 79-year-old president was speaking at the Future Investment Initiative forum in Miami, a gathering tied to Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, when he once again swerved away from acting like a commander in chief and into full-blown sideshow mode.
Boasting that he does not screen questions like “other politicians,” Trump told the crowd they could ask him absolutely anything. Then he dropped the line that instantly sent the room into uncomfortable laughter.
“You can ask me anything you want. You can talk sex,” Trump said. “You can do whatever the hell you want. I’m here for you.”
Yes, really.
The bizarre moment came as Trump was supposed to be addressing issues that actually matter, including the intensifying Middle East war, rising instability, and a partial government shutdown. But instead of sounding focused or presidential, he delivered yet another rambling performance that felt more like a late-night stunt than a serious address from the Oval Office.
And the timing could hardly have been worse.
Just hours after Trump spoke, reports said at least 10 U.S. servicemembers were injured at a military base in Saudi Arabia, with two in serious condition. The news landed one day after Trump triumphantly claimed Iran had been “obliterated,” a boast that already looked reckless even before fresh casualties were reported.
“For 47 years, Iran has been known as the bully of the Middle East. But they are not the bully not any longer,” Trump said during the speech. “They are on the run.”
But Trump was far from done making the night weird.
At another point, he referred to the Strait of Hormuz as the “Strait of Trump,” a remark so wildly narcissistic it sounded almost too ridiculous to be real. After quickly correcting himself, he insisted it was not a mistake at all.
“The Fake News will say, ‘He accidentally said.’ No, there’s no accidents with me,” Trump said.
That comment raised even more eyebrows because the Strait of Hormuz is not some random landmark. It is one of the most critical oil chokepoints in the world, with roughly 20 percent of global oil passing through it. With Iranian leaders partially blockading the waterway, prices have already surged and nerves are fraying across global markets.
Still, Trump reportedly has been toying with the idea of renaming it the “Strait of America” — or even naming it after himself — if the U.S. gains control.
That kind of branding obsession has become a familiar pattern. Trump has long shown a fixation with stamping his name on everything in sight, from buildings and investment programs to roads, visas, and even iconic American institutions. So critics watching this latest performance saw exactly what they have come to expect: ego first, reality second.
To many Americans, the image was hard to ignore — a president joking about sex with strangers and fantasizing about renaming global landmarks after himself while troops are getting hurt, oil prices are spiking, and another international crisis is spiraling.
For Trump, apparently, even war is no reason to stop making it all about Trump.

Honestly people everyone needs to keep a sense of humor. What President can answer questions give you information and actually use humor while engaged as President. This is one of the most stressful Jobs in the World. He works on only about four hours of sleep and can multi-task as Commander-in-Chief. I don’t see anyone in the wings that will be able to do what President Trump is and has accomplished and still keep a sense of humor.
Sometimes granted comments are not the most appropriate but he rarely uses a teleprompter and can speak for hours on a myriad of subjects. No sleepy President Biden here. TDS has made everyone crazy and there is no Unity in the Congress or Senate just obstructionism. If you want to clean house vote the do nothing no plan leaderless Democrats out of office in November.
