Shocking new revelations are fueling fresh questions about the global network surrounding disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein — and a notorious British predator whose crimes horrified the world.
Recently released government records are now drawing renewed attention to a disturbing name tied to Epstein’s orbit: Jimmy Savile, the late U.K. television personality who was later exposed as one of the most prolific sexual predators in British history.
Savile, once a beloved celebrity in Britain, was accused of abusing hundreds of victims over decades before his death in 2011. Investigations launched after his death revealed a staggering pattern of sexual assaults committed at hospitals, schools, and charity institutions where he had been treated as a trusted figure.
Now, newly disclosed witness interviews connected to Epstein’s case suggest that the two men may have moved in overlapping circles of powerful and deeply troubling associates.
A witness told investigators she attended what she described as a “disgusting” trade show gathering in New Orleans where Savile reportedly appeared as entertainment for a private audience of wealthy men. According to the interview, the woman recalled feeling deeply disturbed by the atmosphere in the room.
“I was surrounded by a room full of perverted men,” she told investigators in interviews conducted in 2021.
The woman said the gathering included individuals who spoke openly about children allegedly being trafficked internationally. According to the witness, some attendees discussed minors being transported from Switzerland to the United States.
While the documents do not confirm Savile’s direct involvement in those alleged activities, the reference to the British television star has raised eyebrows among investigators and journalists studying the broader Epstein network.
Savile’s crimes shocked Britain when they were revealed after his death. A major investigation released in 2014 concluded that the former BBC host had assaulted victims ranging in age from five to 75 over a period spanning nearly 50 years.
Authorities later determined that Savile used his fame to gain extraordinary access to hospitals, psychiatric institutions, and children’s wards across the United Kingdom. In many cases, he was allowed to roam freely through medical facilities where vulnerable patients were housed.
The investigation found evidence that Savile abused victims at more than two dozen institutions, including Leeds General Infirmary, Broadmoor psychiatric hospital, and Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
Some of the most disturbing allegations involved Savile’s reported fascination with morgues and the dead.
According to witness statements gathered during the U.K. investigation, Savile boasted about having access to hospital mortuaries where he would spend time alone at night.
One hospital worker told investigators Savile once showed off a ring that appeared to contain an eyeball.
“Do you know what they are?” the witness recalled Savile saying. “They are glass eyes from dead bodies in Leeds mortuary.”
The employee said Savile claimed to enjoy wheeling bodies around the facility during late-night visits.
Those chilling claims have resurfaced as investigators examine Epstein’s own bizarre personal collections.
Visitors to Epstein’s Manhattan mansion — one of the largest private residences in New York City — reported seeing a strange display in the entrance hall consisting of dozens of individually framed glass eyes mounted along the walls.
The display reportedly fascinated Epstein, who allegedly told guests the eyes had been imported from England.
The mansion itself became infamous after Epstein’s 2019 arrest on federal sex trafficking charges. Prosecutors accused him of operating a sprawling abuse network that targeted underage girls at his homes in New York, Florida, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Before he could stand trial, Epstein died inside a Manhattan jail cell in August 2019. Authorities ruled the death a suicide, though the circumstances remain heavily scrutinized.
Investigators who examined Epstein’s residences described a number of disturbing decorative pieces scattered throughout the townhouse.
Among them were sculptures, photographs, and paintings many visitors described as unsettling. One widely reported artwork depicted former President Bill Clinton wearing a blue dress and red heels. Another room reportedly contained extensive surveillance equipment believed to have monitored activity throughout the property.
Law enforcement officials also seized Epstein’s infamous 92-page contact book, which contained the names and phone numbers of hundreds of powerful figures from politics, business, entertainment, and royalty.
Names reported to appear in the address book included Prince Andrew, former President Bill Clinton, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, New York billionaire Michael Bloomberg, and actor Alec Baldwin. Many of those individuals have denied wrongdoing and say they had limited or no knowledge of Epstein’s crimes.
It remains unclear whether Savile’s contact information appeared anywhere in Epstein’s records.
However, the newly surfaced witness accounts suggesting both men appeared in similar elite social environments have renewed interest in whether their paths crossed more directly.
Both men carefully cultivated public images as philanthropists while privately facing allegations of horrific abuse.
Savile raised millions for charities and ran marathons for hospital fundraising campaigns. Epstein portrayed himself as a wealthy financier and donor to scientific causes.
Behind those public personas, investigators say both men maintained relationships with some of the world’s most influential figures — connections that helped shield their behavior for years.
Today, the possibility that two of the most infamous predators of the modern era may have been connected in elite social circles is raising new questions about the hidden networks that allowed them to operate unchecked.
As federal agencies continue reviewing evidence seized from Epstein’s properties, investigators say the full scope of his global connections may still be far from fully understood.
