President Donald Trump is once again at the center of a political storm.

This time, it involves former First Lady Michelle Obama, a viral video that critics called racist, and a high-stakes media merger that has pulled in Netflix, Warner Bros., and longtime Obama ally Susan Rice.

The clash unfolded on Trump’s Truth Social platform, where the president re-posted a message labeling Michelle Obama an “anti-White racist.” The accusation came from far-right activist Laura Loomer — and Trump didn’t just share it. He amplified it.

“Fire racist, Trump Deranged Susan Rice, IMMEDIATELY, or pay the consequences,” Trump wrote, targeting the former national security adviser who now sits on Netflix’s board.

The controversy traces back to a proposed merger between Netflix and Warner Bros. Discovery. Loomer argued the deal would strengthen what she described as Democratic control over streaming media. She also claimed that the Obamas’ production company, Higher Ground Productions, would benefit from expanded influence across platforms.

“If the Netflix-Warner Bros. merger is approved,” Loomer wrote, “positive messaging of the Democrats’ upcoming witch hunts against Trump from Barack Hussein Obama and his anti-White racist wife Michelle would likely be blasted across all streaming services.”

Trump’s decision to re-share the post immediately escalated the situation.

The Obamas, who signed a lucrative content deal with Netflix in 2018, have produced documentaries, children’s programming, and political-themed projects. Their company has won industry awards and built a growing media footprint. Critics on the right often argue that entertainment platforms lean left. Democrats counter that such claims are exaggerated and politically motivated.

The renewed attack comes just weeks after Trump shared a controversial video that superimposed the faces of Barack and Michelle Obama onto the bodies of apes. The background music? The Tokens’ 1961 hit The Lion Sleeps Tonight.

The post drew swift condemnation from civil rights advocates and political opponents, who described the imagery as racially offensive and historically loaded.

Asked whether he would apologize, Trump refused.

“I didn’t make a mistake,” he said. “I look at thousands of things. I looked at the beginning of it. It was fine.”

He later suggested the clip was connected to voter fraud claims tied to the 2020 election, which he continues to dispute. “It was a very strong post in terms of voter fraud,” Trump said at the time.

The video was eventually removed from Truth Social.

The president’s latest comments triggered an immediate backlash across social media.

“The worse he becomes, the angrier he gets at the Obamas,” one critic wrote. “We are all a part of his retribution now.”

Another commenter blasted, “Why is he in the White House stealing our tax dollars?”

Others accused Trump of stirring controversy to distract from other political pressures.

Supporters, however, argue Trump is fighting what they see as entrenched liberal influence across media and corporate America.

Trump has repeatedly rejected accusations of racism.

“I am the least racist president you’ve had in a long time,” he said in a previous interview. “Think of what I’ve done. Criminal justice reform. Funding for historically Black colleges and universities. Nobody else could do it.”

He has also pointed to increased support among some Black male voters in recent election cycles as proof that his message resonates beyond traditional Republican demographics.

The animosity between Trump and Barack Obama stretches back over a decade.

Trump was one of the most vocal proponents of the “birther” conspiracy theory questioning Obama’s citizenship. Obama, in turn, famously mocked Trump at the 2011 White House Correspondents’ Dinner — a moment many political observers believe deepened their personal rivalry.

Now, years later, the feud is playing out again — this time through social media reposts, streaming wars, and accusations that are as explosive as ever.

With the 2026 political landscape already heating up, the clash underscores a broader truth about American politics today: personal rivalries, media power, and racial tensions remain combustible — and they are far from fading quietly into history.
