ICE Agent Shouted Vile Slur at Renee Good After Shooting (Video)

The final moments of Renee Nicole Good’s life are now at the center of a national firestorm after new video surfaced showing an ICE agent shouting a vile slur just seconds after the Minnesota mother was fatally shot in the head.

The footage, released by the conservative outlet Alpha News, was recorded from the bodycam of Jonathan Ross, the ICE agent who fired three rounds through Good’s SUV during a chaotic confrontation on Jan. 7.

The recording captures a tense and confusing scene. A dog is visible in the backseat. Officers circle the vehicle. One records Good’s plates. Good, who had three children and no known history of violence, appears calm.

Her last words were quiet and eerily steady.

“That’s fine, dude. I’m not mad at you. I’m not mad at you,” she said moments before gunfire shattered the windshield.

A woman believed to be Good’s wife, Rebecca, tried to intervene. She recorded an officer as backup ICE units hurried onto the scene. One yelled, “Get out of the f–king car.”

When Rebecca couldn’t open the passenger door, she screamed, “Drive baby, drive.”

Good reversed, then accelerated forward in an attempt to leave. Ross opened fire. Her vehicle lurched into a parked car. Then came the slur.

As Good lay dying from a bullet wound to the head, an agent can be heard muttering, “f–king b—h.” The video ends abruptly.

Another recording from the scene shows Rebecca covered in blood and screaming for help. “I made her come down here; it’s my fault,” she sobbed. “They just shot my wife.”

The deadly shooting unfolded on a residential block in south Minneapolis, a city still grappling with the legacy of the George Floyd killing and federal scrutiny of law-enforcement force. A single shot pierced Good’s windshield. Two more are believed to have hit her from the driver’s side.

Federal officials insist Good used her vehicle as a weapon. The White House reposted the new footage on its Rapid Response account, claiming it supports the administration’s stance that Ross feared for his life.

Vice President JD Vance echoed that message. “Watch this, as hard as it is,” he wrote on X. “This officer’s life was endangered and he fired in self-defense.”

But the new video also creates new problems for the administration. The slur undermines claims that officers were acting under immediate threat rather than lashing out in anger. President Donald Trump previously stated Ross had been run over and hospitalized. Those details were incorrect.

Loved ones argue the shooting never should have happened.

“That’s so stupid that she was killed,” Good’s mother, Jennifer Ganger, told the Star Tribune. “She was probably terrified. Renee was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known. She took care of people her whole life. She was loving, forgiving, and affectionate. She was an amazing human being.”

Good had survived immense loss in recent years. She was raising her six-year-old son after her husband died suddenly in 2023. Friends say she had rebuilt her life, remarried, and found stability.

Rebecca, her wife, described her as luminous.

“Renee sparkled. She literally sparkled,” she wrote in a letter to Minnesota Public Radio. “Her family said the same thing. Renee was made of sunshine.”

She added that Renee believed kindness was a moral duty. “She was a Christian who knew that all religions teach the same essential truth: we are here to love each other, care for each other, and keep each other safe and whole.”

Community activists are now demanding the full unedited videos, the 911 call logs, and the names of the other ICE agents at the scene. Minneapolis officials say the shooting is under active investigation.

But for Renee’s family, one detail cuts hardest. The last words she ever heard weren’t orders or warnings.
They were a slur.
