The son of Hollywood royalty is clapping back after becoming the latest target of a Trump-era media feud.

Dylan Douglas — the 25-year-old son of screen legends Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones — says he’s “disappointed” that conservative commentator Scott Jennings chose to mock his famous family instead of addressing their heated political exchange on CNN.

The spat began on November 10, when Douglas appeared on a CNN panel to discuss the federal government shutdown, food assistance cuts, and the future of the Affordable Care Act under President Trump’s administration. Jennings, a longtime GOP strategist and outspoken Trump ally, sparred with the young activist during the live broadcast, later bragging on Meghan McCain’s Citizen McCain podcast that he “dismantled” Douglas and dismissed him as living in a “Hollywood bubble.”

“I was shocked—and slightly flattered—that Scott Jennings still cared so much about our conversation three weeks after it happened,” Douglas told The Daily Beast. “I heard so many nasty things about the guy before going on the show, but in person found him to be very pleasant. The fact that almost a month later he’s attacking me over who my parents are, rather than the differences we have politically, is disappointing.”

Sources close to the Douglas family told Radar Online the 81-year-old Wall Street icon and 56-year-old Chicago star were “furious” over Jennings’ comments, though a spokesperson for the couple later clarified that such rumors were “news to them.” “They support accurate reporting, which this rumor isn’t,” the rep added.

Jennings, who recently released A Revolution of Common Sense: How Donald Trump Stormed Washington and Fought for Western Civilization, doubled down on his remarks, joking on McCain’s show that he’d apologize to Zeta-Jones “over a nice seafood dinner.”

The book, which lionizes Trump’s second term as “a battle for Western values,” was launched in D.C. earlier this week — notably without the A-list attendance Jennings had once boasted about during his CNN days.

Douglas, an aspiring filmmaker and political commentator in his own right, brushed off the slight. “I understand he just released a book,” he said. “Maybe this is part of his promotional effort? Regardless, I wish him and his book well.”

Behind the scenes, industry insiders say Douglas has been quietly developing a documentary exploring “media bias in the age of Trump,” a project inspired partly by his own experience facing conservative backlash online. “He’s learning in real time how polarized the country is,” one source familiar with the project told Variety. “He’s not afraid to challenge the narrative — even if it means getting roasted by a MAGA pundit.”

Jennings has not publicly responded to Douglas’s latest comments. But as Trump’s second term continues to test America’s cultural divides, the feud between Hollywood’s progressive next generation and the conservative commentariat shows no sign of cooling down.
