It turns out even former First Ladies aren’t immune to the drama of trashy TV—Michelle Obama is officially a Bravo girlie.
On the latest episode of IMO with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson—a podcast from the Obamas’ own Higher Ground production company—the former First Lady opened up about her love for all things Real Housewives during a chat with Las Culturistas hosts Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers.
“This is where I want to educate my brother and even my husband, who will be listening,” Michelle said. “Culture is king. They razz me about my love of reality TV and The Real Housewives, but I watch it all.”
Yes, all of it. And when pressed for her current fave, Michelle didn’t miss a beat—she’s into Next Gen NYC, the new Bravo spinoff following the Gen Z kids of OG Housewives as they fumble through adulthood in New York.
“I watched the first two episodes, and I’m like, ‘Oh, they’re starting the babies off early,’” she laughed.
So yes, Michelle Obama is fully aware that Georgia McCann doesn’t wash her hands after using the bathroom—and that pop culture revelation basically shattered the internet.
To make things even juicier, there’s a full-circle moment in the Bravo universe: Next Gen star Riley Burruss is the daughter of Kandi Burruss, the Real Housewives of Atlanta legend who once flipped Michelle’s famous line into reality TV gold.
“I am NOT Michelle Obama,” Kandi once snapped. “You go low? I’m going low with you.”
With Michelle officially co-signing the Bravo-verse, reality TV just got presidential approval.
