In a bombshell twist to the endless Jeffrey Epstein saga, federal officials now admit the FBI has a complete surveillance tape from the disgraced financier’s final night—one that doesn’t cut out just before midnight.

Earlier this July, the Department of Justice, under President Donald Trump’s administration, tried to put conspiracy theories to rest by releasing nearly 11 hours of security footage from Epstein’s last night at the notorious Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan. Instead, the video stirred even more controversy after eagle-eyed viewers—and digital forensic experts—noticed the time code skipped the crucial minute before midnight. That’s the very window conspiracy theorists have called “the minute that could explain everything.”

“It’s no secret Americans are tired of the cover-ups,” said former federal prosecutor Alan Reilly, now a frequent Fox News analyst. “People want the truth about Epstein, and this kind of sloppy video release just fuels more suspicion.”

According to Justice Department statements, the “full raw” surveillance tape should have captured anyone approaching Epstein’s cell the night he allegedly took his own life in August 2019. But technical analysts quickly revealed the footage was edited repeatedly and nearly a minute was wiped from the public version.

Now, in an exclusive revelation first reported by CBS News, multiple government sources confirm that the FBI, Bureau of Prisons, and the DOJ Inspector General each possess the unedited original—including the much-debated “missing minute.”

So what’s on it? That remains top secret. The FBI and DOJ have refused comment. The Bureau of Prisons offered only a cryptic statement, saying it “has no additional information to provide at this time.”

Attorney General Pam Bondi, under fire for weeks over the Epstein debacle, tried to calm the uproar. “The video system resets every night,” Bondi told reporters, suggesting this would account for the gap. “So every night should have that same missing minute.”

But digital security experts are skeptical. “Video resets are not a standard feature in most correctional facilities,” said John Miller, a former NYPD Deputy Commissioner. “This doesn’t pass the smell test.”

Bondi has so far declined to release additional footage to support her claim, leaving critics—and the public—demanding answers.

The “surveillance” video released to the public shows only a stairwell and common area, not Epstein’s actual cell door. According to Julie K. Brown—the Pulitzer-finalist reporter whose work forced authorities to reopen the Epstein case in 2018—there are other entrances to Epstein’s tier not covered by the footage.

“It’s quite possible someone entered his cell from another direction,” Brown told CNN earlier this month. “We have no footage from Epstein’s cell door itself, just other doors.”

The Epstein scandal has put the Trump White House under the microscope. Many Republicans expected the president to deliver a “drain the swamp” moment by releasing explosive details about Epstein’s client list. But earlier this month, the DOJ and FBI jointly issued a memo stating that Epstein’s infamous “list” doesn’t exist, and ruled his death a suicide.

The announcement frustrated a vocal segment of Trump’s MAGA base. “We elected Trump to end these cover-ups, not continue them,” said conservative radio host Mark Stettler. “Americans deserve the truth.”

President Trump, who socialized with Epstein in New York’s elite circles for over a decade, sought to distance himself from the scandal. “I haven’t spoken to Jeffrey in over 20 years,” Trump told Fox & Friends on Monday. “He stole some of my staff. That’s why I cut him off. I never went to his island—never had the privilege.”

The big question now: Will the FBI release the real, unedited tape—or will the Epstein conspiracy saga continue to haunt the Trump administration through the 2026 election?

So far, official Washington is silent. But the American people—and a growing chorus of lawmakers on Capitol Hill—are demanding answers.

  1. With this AI anyone can just doctor it up. He can put anyone in the cell or anything else they want to hide

  2. Here we go again; lots of commentary, lots of speculation about what should happen or should have happened but the key statements like sources in the FBI. Or sources in the DOJ or first reported by CBS news are all U.N.-named!!! So it’s nothing substantiated!

And as I’ve said over and over if there was something in the Epstein files or tapes that implicated Trump the Dems had 4 years to use it against Trump! So the fact they didn’t proves that there is nothing here. Maybe Pam Bondi screwed up or maybe it was planned deflection to keep the left busy who knows but Trump keeps working on what he was elected to do- focus on America First!!

    Who cares about Epstein???

How about the historic trade deal in Europe that Trump negotiated that laterally BENEFITS AMERICANS? Why is that never discussed in nextgennews??
