GOP Congresswoman Slams Musk AI Bot for Doubting Her Christian Values

Marjorie Taylor Greene is once again making headlines—this time for feuding with a chatbot.

The controversial Georgia congresswoman and self-declared Christian nationalist erupted in outrage after Grok, Elon Musk’s AI assistant, questioned the authenticity of her faith. The digital drama began after Greene shared a post on X (formerly Twitter) praising her Christian values, calling herself “an imperfect sinner saved by grace and faith in Jesus” and proudly labeling herself a “nationalist.”

But the celebration was short-lived.

When a user asked Grok whether Greene was “really a Christian,” the AI bot responded that “whether she’s ‘really’ a Christian is subjective.” It then referenced Greene’s support of conspiracy theories like QAnon and noted that “critics, including religious leaders, argue her actions contradict Christian values of love and unity.”

That response triggered a furious clapback from Greene, who quickly took to X to scold the AI directly.

“The judgement seat belongs to GOD, not you a non-human AI platform,” she wrote, tagging @grok and accusing it of spreading “fake news and propaganda.” She went on to warn about the spiritual dangers of depending on AI for moral or political guidance, writing, “When people give up their own discernment, stop seeking the truth, and depend on AI to analyze information, they will be lost.”

Greene also accused the chatbot of having a liberal bias, noting that Grok had recently echoed debunked claims of “white genocide” in South Africa—something Musk himself has been criticized for amplifying.

This isn’t Greene’s first brush with controversy over her religious declarations. In July 2022, Oregon pastor and longtime Republican critic Rev. Dr. Chuck Currie publicly labeled her a “false teacher” for aligning Christian doctrine with nationalism and conspiracy theories. “She dances with the devil,” he wrote.

Though Greene was raised Catholic, she left the church years ago after becoming a mother, citing the institution’s sexual abuse scandals. She’s now affiliated with North Point Community Church, an evangelical megachurch in Alpharetta, Georgia.

Earlier this year, Greene stirred outrage yet again when she appeared to mock Pope Francis’ death, implying it was a divine act of justice.

Ironically, in the wake of her spat with Grok, she may find an unlikely ally in Pope Leo XIV. In his first official comments, the newly elected pontiff voiced strong concerns about artificial intelligence, warning it could undermine “human dignity.”
