Donald Trump’s second-term inauguration is shaping up to be a star-studded affair—or at least, one populated by his most loyal celebrity allies. UFC President Dana White, podcaster Theo Von, and entrepreneur Elon Musk are among the high-profile figures planning to attend the January 20 ceremony.
But one notable name is absent from the list: Joe Rogan.
Rogan, whose podcast Trump appeared on during the campaign, was widely seen as an influential voice in amplifying the former president’s message to millions of listeners. His absence has sparked speculation among political pundits and fans alike.
Who’s Attending?
The confirmed guest list is as colorful as Trump’s campaign rallies. Elon Musk, a major donor and informal adviser to Trump, will reportedly attend. Musk’s ties to Trump deepened during the 2024 campaign, with the tech billionaire frequently endorsing Trump’s policies on social media.
Dana White, the UFC’s outspoken CEO and a longtime Trump ally, is also on the list. White played a key role in connecting Trump to the podcasting world, helping the president-elect tap into a younger, predominantly male audience. “He knows how to talk to people who might not normally care about politics,” White said in an interview last November.
Podcaster Theo Von, known for his blend of humor and political commentary, will also be there. “It’s an honor to be invited,” Von told TMZ. “Say what you want about Trump, but he’s not afraid to shake things up.”
The Influencer Crowd
In a nod to social media’s growing influence on politics, several online personalities will join the celebration. Brothers Logan and Jake Paul, controversial influencers-turned-boxers, are confirmed guests. So are Bryce Hall and the Nelk Boys, a group known for their viral antics and MAGA affiliations.
“It’s not just about traditional celebrities anymore,” said media analyst Sarah Greenfield. “The Paul brothers and the Nelk Boys represent a new type of political endorsement. They reach millions of young voters who might otherwise stay disengaged.”
Model and OnlyFans star Amber Rose, who made waves at the Republican National Convention last summer, is also on the list. Joining her is Olympic gold medalist Caitlyn Jenner, a vocal Trump supporter.
Rogan’s No-Show
Rogan’s decision to skip the event has raised questions, especially given his prior support. In October, Trump appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience, where the two discussed everything from energy policy to cancel culture. The episode quickly became one of Rogan’s most-streamed shows.
Political strategist Matt Campbell suggested the absence might be strategic. “Rogan values his independence. Publicly aligning himself too closely with Trump might alienate parts of his audience,” Campbell explained.
Rogan has yet to comment on his decision, but the omission has not gone unnoticed. “It’s surprising, to say the least,” said one political commentator. “Rogan was one of Trump’s biggest amplifiers during the campaign.”
Entertainment Lineup
Country music star Carrie Underwood will headline the ceremony, performing “America the Beautiful.” The choice marks a sharp contrast to the 2020 inauguration of President Joe Biden, which featured Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lopez.
“Underwood appeals to Trump’s base,” said Greenfield. “It’s a calculated choice that underscores his focus on connecting with Middle America.”
The Bigger Picture
While celebrity endorsements can create buzz, their actual impact on elections remains debatable. “At the end of the day, it’s policies and turnout that win elections, not star power,” Campbell said.
Still, the eclectic guest list signals Trump’s evolving approach to political branding. As one supporter put it: “Love him or hate him, Trump knows how to make headlines.”
