A Pennsylvania township employee was killed in a riding lawn mower accident on the job, local news outlets reported.

Authorities responded to Albert Ponds Preserve at about 10:45 a.m. July 9, PennLive reported.

Officials said they believe a Bushkill Township employee was cutting the grass when his riding mower tipped on an embankment along a pond, the outlet reported. 

Northampton County Coroner Zach Lysek said the worker was pinned in the water by his mower, WFMZ reported. 

The coroner’s office identified the man as 74-year-old Louis Nagy, WTXF reported.

Nagy was a Bushkill Township resident, WFMZ reported. 

Authorities continue to investigate the incident and Nagy’s official cause and manner of death, local outlets report. 

Albert Ponds is a 60-acre recreational area owned by Bushkill Township popular with fishing enthusiasts

Albert Ponds Preserve is about an 80-mile drive north from Philadelphia.
