The Ritz-Carlton Los Angeles has a hole in its front wall. Someone stole a city Metro bus, hijacking it with a BB gun late last night, ordering the driver to go to several locations. Inside the wall of the Ritz-Carlton may have been one of them?
There were no other passengers on the bus. It’s not clear why the driver lost control, but he collided the bus with cars, “including one at an intersection where another Metro bus driver stopped just as the hijacked bus ran a red light and crossed the intersection.” Then the bus crashed into the Ritz.
The bus’s driver was injured. So was a woman in a vehicle struck by the bus – it hit two Mercedes and an SUV. The hijacker headed off after the crash, found a bike, and tried to ride off into the sunset but was arrested.
The motive for the hijacking is unclear, but LA media refers to the suspect as “unhoused” (homeless). Surely this involves Keanu Reeves somehow, other because of The Matrix or Speed.
