A 3-year-old child died on a bus of migrants headed to Chicago from Texas, state officials confirmed.

The child, who was traveling with his parents, died in Marion County in southern Illinois — about 90 minutes east of St. Louis, Missouri, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

It’s not clear where the family was originally from or how the child died.

“IDPH is working with local health officials, state police, and federal authorities to the fullest extent possible to get answers in this tragic situation,” Illinois DPH told The Post in a statement.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death, the department said.

The bus departed from Brownsville, Texas on the southern border, according to ABC Chicago.
