In a frightening incident, a 12-year-old girl has been accused of attacking an 11-year-old girl named Dearia Summers with acid in a park in Detroit.

According to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, the accused youngster, who is still not recognized, has been charged with felonious assault and assault with the intent to cause grave bodily damage. She is not permitted to speak with the victim, according to a court order.

On July 9, after a fight between several females at the playground, the distressing episode took place. The accused child allegedly procured acid after the fight and used it to attack Dearia Summers.

The horrible moment when Dearia’s mother, Dominique Summers, saw her daughter dash into the house with smoke flowing off of her body and holes burned in her garments was revealed. Summers immediately dialed 911 and transported her daughter to the hospital, where she was treated for second- and third-degree burns over the course of four days.

Dearia’s mother is seeking extra charges against the suspect’s mother while the accused youngster is being prosecuted. Dominique Summers feels that the suspect’s mother deserves to be held accountable as well because it is claimed that she brought acid to the park for her son to use as retaliation. Summers asserted that the mother’s involvement should be taken into consideration because she thought that a 12-year-old would not concoct such a wicked crime on her own.

Kym Worthy, the prosecutor, expressed tremendous worry over the incident and called it “extremely troubling.” She highlighted that there is no justification for such an act and said that the impact of rash, terrible decisions might last a lifetime on other people.

Dearia’s grandma, Debra Golston, has started a GoFundMe account in response to the incident and the continued medical treatment Dearia needs. The effort aims to gather money for Dearia’s continued care and medical expenses while she recovers from her burns. The family is happy that Dearia survived the attack, but they are aware that her physical and mental recovery will take a lot of time.

The situation serves as a sharp reminder of the value of encouraging empathy, comprehension, and conflict resolution among young people. It also prompts questions about the ease of access to harmful chemicals and the necessity of caution in averting similar events.

The court will continue to hear the case, and it is critical that justice be done while also insuring Dearia Summers and her family’s welfare and support as they travel the difficult road to recovery.
