A Florida man armed with an AK-47 was arrested at a Virginia preschool by Fairfax County police on Tuesday.
Eric Sandow, 32, was trespassing at Dolley Madison Preschool in McLean, Virginia, and allegedly told police he was on his way to the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), according to Fairfax County police.
Officers detained Sandow and searched his car, where they found two firearms, including an AK-47. Police seized the weapons and arrested Sandow.
He was charged with felony possession of a firearm on school property.
A photo released by police shows a long gun and a handgun, plus bullets and other firearm accessories.
The agency’s headquarters is located on 1000 Colonial Farm Rd, McLean, Virgina, about a mile away from the Preschool.
Officers were called to the Dolly Madison Preschool on Tuesday at around 11am after a community member saw a strange man on the property.
While speaking with the man, police said he made statements about having weapons inside his car, which was located on school property.
Officers searched the car and found two weapons, an AK-47 and a pistol, along with magazines and ammunition.
The man, Eric Sandow, was placed under arrest and charged with felony possession of a firearm on school property.
He is currently being held at the Adult Detention Center without bond.
Sandow was not armed when officers found him, police said. He did not make any threats and the weapons never left the vehicle.
It does not appear he was acting in conjunction with anyone else, police said.

‘We’re grateful to the community member who did the right thing and called us,’ a Fairfax County Sergeant said.
‘We’d like to remind our community to report suspicious activity as you never know what you may prevent by making that call.’
This is not Sandow’s first run-in with the law.
Sandow was placed under arrest for domestics battery back in 2014, when he attacked his father, who decided not to prosecute.
If the framers of our Constitution would have seen the distorted way the 2nd Amendment is been used they would have NEVER written it in the Bill of Rights.. The “Well Regulated Militia” part does not record with the money grabbers at the NRA.
