A 13-year-old boy was shot and killed by San Antonio Police after crashing into a patrol car with a stolen vehicle while trying to flee on the Southwest Side.
The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. Friday off War Cloud Street near Old Pearsall Road.
Police said they responded to several calls for shots fired in the area. When they got to the scene, they tried to pull over the suspect’s vehicle, which had been reported stolen. Police said the suspect then accelerated and crashed into the patrol car.
A second officer then shot the suspect because he was “fearing the other officer would be stuck by the suspect vehicle,” according to the police report.
The 13-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital, but he later died from his injuries.
Two other juvenile suspects were not injured.
The investigation is ongoing.

Boo-hoo, don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time DOA in this case! Here we go again with the sensationalism: trying to stir trouble by saying this was just a youngster; really, the law enforcement is supposed to know this in such a life or death moment? Hey, the PERPETRATOR, whatever his/her age got what he deserve; one less “wanna-be-gangsta” off the streets, I’d say that’s a win, win situation for the rest of society!
This Gun culture has got to change, if this was any place in Europe the 13 year old would still be alive, the police culture here in the USA, is shoot first ask questions later. In Europe it is deescalate, and take the person into custody, over here it is shoot as soon aspossible.
It’s time to treat this kids like adults when they do illegal adult things. Kids today have grown up way too fast.
The parents should be held responsible for the delinquents actions, to include incarceration and monetary restitution. This nonsense must cease! Parents must be held responsible for the actions of the child especially as juveniles in the parents custody. No supervision, no mercy.
Guess that 13 year old’s crime career ended a little prematurely.
Bet he looked like he was 20 and not 13.
