An Alabama sheriff is trying to figure out how hundreds of FedEx packages ended up dumped in the woods.
The packages of various sizes were found in a ravine near the small town of Hayden on Wednesday, the Blount County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
“I currently have a deputy on a location where it appears 300-400 boxes of assorted sizes have been thrown off a ravine,” the sheriff’s office said on its Facebook page on Wednesday.
Deputies were sent to guard the scene until FedEx workers could arrive to pick up the packages, Sheriff Mark Moon said. FedEx sent multiple trucks and drivers from across the South to load up the packages, Moon said.
Photos posted on the sheriff’s Facebook page show the packages strewn about the forest. The site where the packages were found is about 30 miles north of Birmingham, Alabama.
It wasn’t clear why the packages were in the ravine, the sheriff said, but he hoped to have some answers soon.
“The security of our customers’ shipments is a top priority and we are committed to treating our customers’ packages with the utmost care,” Memphis, Tennessee-based FedEx said in a statement provided Friday.
“We are taking steps to recover and transport the affected packages as quickly as possible,” the company said. “In addition to cooperating with law enforcement, we are conducting a review of this situation and will take the appropriate action.”

Looks like somebody from FedEx was Fed Up.
I’m fed up with FedEx delivery system, 3 times my packages were cancelled for delivery. Maximum jail time should be implemented to the one responsible for this irresponsible act. Mandatory jail time because of the stress, anxiety & ruined lives due to the driver’s mentally retarded behaviour. Nationwide manhunt is demanded for this atrocity.
The tracking numbers will tell them the last scanning date, AND which truck(s) they were last loaded on…and the DRIVER(S). Heads, or A head WILL roll!

If the driver doesn’t want to work for FedEx, then he or she needs to quit then…some of these packages are for someone’s birthday or even medicine…FedEx needs to do some training or something to keep this from occurring again. In some places, this is a regular thing (Chicago) due to the high crime rates. I know I wouldn’t want to lose my life delivering packages in really bad areas…
I couldn’t agree more. Law makers have to implement a stricter regulations or FedEx themselves to avoid this unacceptable act. I would donate a reasonable cash reward for their jail time. FedEx should definitely revamp their applicants screening protocol.
This is uncalled for. Must be a lazy Biden voter. Hope the get them and jail their ass. They can gat jobs with DHL or Postal system and throw democratic votes away.
