Female Mayor, 43, Caught being ‘Intimate’ with Son’s Friend, 16, at Boozy Pool Party 

A small Louisiana town is at the center of a jaw-dropping courtroom scandal after former DeRidder mayor Misty Roberts was accused of inappropriate conduct involving one of her teenage son’s friends during a 2024 birthday pool party.

Roberts, 43, is facing serious charges, including third-degree rape and contributing to the delinquency of juveniles, tied to allegations that surfaced after the gathering at her home. Prosecutors say the party involved underage drinking, with multiple teens allegedly given access to alcohol during the celebration.

According to testimony presented in court, several family members told investigators they witnessed troubling behavior between Roberts and the 16-year-old guest as the party unfolded. Her son reportedly told Child Advocacy Center officials that his mother and his friend were alone upstairs at one point, while another relative claimed he saw suspicious activity in a game room.

Roberts’ younger daughter also reportedly told detectives she saw her mother and the teen in a compromising situation that same night. Jurors were later shown photos from the party, including images of teens near the pool with drinks in hand, along with text messages allegedly discussing what alcohol would be available.

The case took an even more startling turn when a DoorDash driver testified he delivered Plan B emergency contraception to a customer named “Misty” at Roberts’ home shortly after the party. The driver said he later realized the address matched the home tied to the criminal investigation after hearing about the allegations.

Adding to the explosive testimony, Roberts’ ex-husband, Duncan Clanton, told jurors she later admitted what happened to him directly.

The shocking accusations have shaken DeRidder, a town of roughly 10,000 residents in western Louisiana. Roberts, who was serving her second term as mayor at the time, stepped down from office just days after police launched their investigation.

Now, as the trial continues, the once-prominent local official is watching her political career unravel in dramatic fashion while jurors sort through testimony that has stunned the community.
