Coco Jones Stuns Fans with the ‘Black National Anthem’ at Super Bowl (Video)

Coco Jones turned Super Bowl LX into an unforgettable night — on and off the field.

The 28-year-old R&B star delivered a soaring performance of “Lift Every Voice and Sing” ahead of the big game at Levi’s Stadium on Feb. 8, and moments later, she and fiancé Donovan Mitchell shared a tender kiss that had fans swooning.

Jones, visibly emotional after finishing the Black national anthem, was met by the Cleveland Cavaliers guard, 29, who wrapped her up in a quiet moment of PDA as the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks prepared to kick off.

For her performance, Jones wore a dramatic white cascading skirt paired with a sporty jacket featuring bedazzled red, black, and green accents inspired by the Pan-African flag — symbolizing unity, freedom, and resilience. The custom Karl Kani look was also a nod to Whitney Houston’s iconic 1991 national anthem appearance.

Supported by a full string ensemble, Jones’ rendition immediately drew praise online, with fans calling it “goosebump-inducing” and “one of the night’s standout moments.”

Jones and Mitchell, who first met at a creatives’ networking event in 2023, got engaged in July 2025 after two years of dating. The singer recently reflected on the shift from romance to commitment, joking to PEOPLE that marriage feels like “the biggest contract I’ve ever signed.”

She added that their bond works because the two share the same intensity and drive: “He’s my biggest cheerleader. I feel like I can’t doubt myself around him — it’s just not going down like that.”
