First Lady Melania Trump’s highly anticipated documentary, MELANIA, is heading toward its January 30 premiere amid whispers that the pricey project is struggling to generate real buzz.

Despite Donald Trump publicly insisting demand is sky-high for the Washington, D.C. premiere at the Kennedy Center, multiple insiders say the reality behind the scenes looks far less glamorous.

According to sources, advance ticket sales in major markets have been underwhelming at best. In New York City, only a small number of seats have reportedly been booked, while Palm Beach — typically friendly territory — isn’t faring much better.

Even theaters in traditionally Trump-leaning areas are said to be sitting mostly empty.

The documentary, directed by Brett Ratner, promises a rare, behind-the-scenes look at Melania’s life as first lady and her marriage to Donald Trump. Given Melania’s famously private nature, early expectations were that curiosity alone would drive strong turnout.

So far, that doesn’t appear to be happening.

Sources claim the studio behind the $40 million production, distributed by Amazon MGM Studios, had anticipated a much stronger opening — and may even consider withholding box office numbers if the debut disappoints.

Insiders say the mood has shifted from excitement to concern.

“It’s a high-profile project, but hype doesn’t always translate into ticket sales,” one source said. “People are curious, but they’re not rushing to buy tickets.”

Adding fuel to the chatter is Donald Trump himself, who recently praised the film while admitting he hasn’t actually watched it in full.

Asked aboard Air Force One whether he’d seen MELANIA, the president replied, “I’ve seen pieces of it. It’s incredible,” before quickly pivoting to talk about Melania’s bestselling book and name-dropping celebrities he claimed were eager to attend the premiere.

The moment didn’t go unnoticed online.

After the clip spread on social media, critics and commentators piled on, with some mocking the fact that Trump hadn’t sat through the entire film about his own wife.

“Her own husband couldn’t watch it,” one user joked, while another added, “If it’s not about him, of course he didn’t finish it.”

With the premiere just days away, all eyes are now on whether MELANIA can turn whispers of empty theaters into a last-minute surge — or whether the documentary drama will overshadow the film itself.
