In a jaw-dropping confession on Netflix’s Members Only: Palm Beach, reality star and horse breeder Gale Brophy says she once called former President Bill Clinton—not the police—when her son was nearly kidnapped at her Florida estate.

The revelation came during a champagne-fueled boat party celebrating castmate Hilary Musser’s wedding. Cameras rolled as Brophy nonchalantly recounted the moment she received a chilling ransom demand for $100,000 while at her Wellington horse farm.

“I had just helped Bill Clinton get in office,” Brophy told her castmates. “So I called Bill directly because I couldn’t get through to 911.”

Her remark left the women speechless before the conversation spiraled into jokes about Clinton’s past scandals. “What did he want in return?” one quipped, prompting a round of nervous laughter—a clear nod to the infamous Monica Lewinsky affair that defined Clinton’s presidency.

Netflix producers have not confirmed whether Brophy’s story checks out, and viewers never hear what became of the alleged kidnapping. There’s no public record or police report matching her account.

Still, the claim adds another layer to Brophy’s carefully curated image as Palm Beach royalty. The 58-year-old socialite and equestrian has long moved in elite circles. In the 1990s, she dated San Francisco real estate mogul Walter Shorenstein—one of the Democratic Party’s biggest donors—and was a fixture at White House events.

According to archives from The Washington Post and San Francisco Chronicle, Brophy attended a glittering 1996 state dinner for French President Jacques Chirac and was once photographed chatting with then–First Lady Hillary Clinton. That same year, she made headlines when she lost a shoe on her way into the White House.

Though Brophy herself didn’t donate to Clinton’s campaign, Shorenstein later contributed millions to the William J. Clinton Foundation, according to public filings.

On Members Only, Brophy boasts that her ties extend beyond the Clintons. She describes herself as one of Ivana Trump’s “best friends” and even claims she once bid against Donald Trump—now back in the Oval Office—for his Palm Beach estate, Mar-a-Lago.

In today’s politically charged 2025 climate, Brophy’s story has reignited debate over the blurred lines between celebrity privilege and political access.

As one viewer posted on X, “Only in Palm Beach do you call a former president instead of 911.”

Neither Brophy nor Bill Clinton’s office has responded to requests for comment.
