Frank Sinatra’s daughter Nancy is making it crystal clear — her legendary father would not have been a fan of President Donald Trump.
After a viral video circulated online showing ICE officers harassing construction workers, Nancy Sinatra, 85, took to X on Friday to voice her outrage. “This is not my father’s America,” she wrote. “He would be devastated. Trump is so wrong in so many ways.”
When one user fired back claiming, “Your Dad would have loved Trump,” Sinatra didn’t hold back. “Do some homework before you make a fool of yourself,” she shot back. “My dad LOATHED Trump.”

Frank Sinatra, long celebrated as an American icon, was also a man of strong convictions. Though his politics evolved over time, he was deeply tied to Democratic ideals during the 1960s — famously supporting President John F. Kennedy and performing at inaugural events.
“Sinatra was a fierce defender of civil rights and equality,” said cultural historian Mark Kravitz in an interview with Rolling Stone. “He used his fame to challenge racism and promote unity — the opposite of the divisive rhetoric we’ve seen from Trump.”
While Sinatra did later back Richard Nixon in 1972, that endorsement came during a period of political disillusionment in Hollywood, not an embrace of authoritarianism. Friends said he remained “fundamentally progressive in spirit.”
Trump has previously claimed that Frank Sinatra once offered him advice about business and success — a claim the Sinatra family has consistently denied.
In fact, Sinatra’s former manager, Eliot Weisman, wrote in his 2017 autobiography The Way It Was that the crooner’s only advice to Trump was much less polite. After Trump reportedly tried to cut Sinatra’s performance fee for the grand opening of his Atlantic City casino, the singer told him to “go f— himself” and canceled the deal on the spot.
Nancy Sinatra has repeatedly used her platform to remind the public where her father stood. In 2020, she told a follower on X there was “not a chance” her father would have voted for Trump. Earlier this year, she doubled down when Trump supporters tried to link her father’s patriotism with their movement.
“Frank Sinatra represented an America that believed in dignity, decency, and inclusion,” one fan replied Friday. “It’s heartbreaking to see what’s happened since.”
Nancy simply responded: “Exactly.”
