Woman Claiming to be Trump’s Wife Arrested in Mar-a-Lago Security Scare

Another bizarre breach attempt at Mar-a-Lago has raised new questions about security at Donald Trump’s private club and residence, which doubles as a hub of presidential activity in his second term.

The Palm Beach Police Department confirmed that 49-year-old Christy Renee Kimbrell was arrested Tuesday after allegedly insisting she was Trump’s wife and demanding access to him.

According to a probable cause affidavit, officers responded shortly after noon to a call about an “unwanted guest” outside the gates of 1100 S. Ocean Blvd. When they arrived, U.S. Secret Service agents told them Kimbrell had tried to deliver a letter for Trump, while claiming her legal name was “Christy Renee Trump.” She reportedly told officers she had recently married the president and needed to “come home.”

Police say this was not her first attempt. In May, Kimbrell was issued a written trespass warning after repeatedly calling Mar-a-Lago security and local police, demanding entry. On May 16, she allegedly contacted the resort multiple times, and days later showed up at the Palm Beach Bath & Tennis Club by Uber, again claiming Trump had invited her back.

“She’s not new to us,” one Palm Beach officer told reporters. “We’ve seen her before at this location.”

This time, she was taken into custody without incident and booked on trespassing charges.

Trump’s sprawling Mar-a-Lago estate has been at the center of repeated controversies, not just over classified documents stored there during his first term, but also over how secure the property really is while doubling as both a luxury club and the residence of the sitting president.

Democrats and national security experts have long criticized the arrangement, arguing that the resort’s “revolving door of access” makes it a glaring vulnerability. In 2019, a Chinese businesswoman was arrested at Mar-a-Lago carrying multiple electronic devices after gaining access to the grounds by claiming she was headed to a pool.

“This latest arrest underscores a troubling pattern,” said former Secret Service agent Jonathan Wackrow in a phone interview. “Mar-a-Lago is treated as both a private club and a presidential compound, and that dual identity invites risk.”

Kimbrell’s behavior also highlights a recurring problem presidents face: individuals with delusions or obsessions targeting them directly. Secret Service records show dozens of people are intercepted each year for similar reasons.

“It’s a public safety concern, not just for the president, but for the person in crisis,” said Palm Beach criminal attorney Teresa Delgado, who is not involved in the case. “This woman’s fixation could escalate, and without intervention, it’s not clear where it ends.”

Kimbrell is being held on a trespassing charge. Court records were not immediately available to indicate if she had secured an attorney.

The White House has not commented on the arrest. Trump was reportedly not at Mar-a-Lago at the time of the incident.

For residents of Palm Beach, though, the story is less about Trump’s celebrity and more about safety. “We just want to know this place is secure,” one neighbor said. “Because right now, it doesn’t feel like it.”
