Man Brutally Mutilates Himself on LA City Street

A horrific scene unfolded in downtown Los Angeles early Saturday morning after a man allegedly mutilated himself in public before dying from massive blood loss, leaving investigators scrambling for answers.

Police say the disturbing incident happened around 3:40 a.m. on March 7 near the Los Angeles Convention Center, a busy area that typically hosts major events and thousands of visitors each week. Officers responding to the scene discovered a man who had inflicted catastrophic injuries on himself, including severing his own genitals.

Authorities say the man also appeared to have slashed his throat, attempted to cut his arm, and stabbed himself with a sharp object before collapsing on the street.

Emergency crews rushed to the location but were unable to save him.

“He died at the scene due to the severity of his injuries,” a law enforcement source familiar with the case said.
